Arts District
Ceramic Studio
The Ceramic Studio opened in 2014, replacing Quandary Antiques Cabin as the ceramics center of the Breckenridge Arts District. The new, two-story facility takes architectural cues from industrial buildings of the gold-mining era. One example is its clearstory—a row of windows near the top of the building replicated from a historic photo of the Dipping Station, an industrial structure that was once part of a large complex of machine shops dominating Ridge Street. The Ceramic Studio is used for wheel-throwing and hand-building workshops, and offers open-studio hours for experienced ceramic artists. Designed to accommodate the Arts District classes, it includes eight wheels, two kilns, a slab roller, a glaze-mixing room and one studio rental space downstairs for local artists.
