Support the Arts in Breckenridge

Become a Breck Create Member
volunteer ushers

As a non-profit, volunteers are vital to our operations. Volunteers allow Breck Create to offer more events and engage a broader slice of our community. Volunteers also benefit from the opportunity to bring arts and culture to community members who may otherwise have limited access. Please consider helping Breck Create make a deeper impact by volunteering.

If you are interested in volunteering with Breck Create, please fill out the questionnaire below. If you have any questions, please reach out to karen@breckcreate.org.

The main areas that we need support are outlined below; however, there may be other events and opportunities outside the scope of these descriptions.

Special Event Set Up/Tear Down + Support

Engage visitors and connect with your community while helping us execute our events and festivals. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the Breck Create facilities during events and festivals to set up/clean up, greet and guide patrons, assist with workshops and run other event stations as needed. Please be aware that when helping with event set up/clean up, heavy lifting may be involved.

Usher + Guest Services + Ticket Scanning

Assist with events at the Riverwalk Center. Volunteers will scan tickets, guide patrons to their seats and direct the flow of traffic. Volunteers will receive training on ticket scanning devices. Volunteers may enjoy the show at no cost.

Hospitality (21+)

Serve beer, wine, and other non-alcoholic beverages to patrons during exhibition openings and other special events. Volunteers will be trained on Breck Create’s POS system. Volunteers also will check IDs and enforce rules related to serving alcohol. At the end of events, volunteers will help staff tear down the bar. You must be 21 or older to volunteer in this position.

Street Team

Postering + Brochure Distribution: Spread the word about Breck Create and its offerings by distributing printed materials to local organizations and businesses.

Administrative Support

Assist Breck Create staff with clerical and administrative tasks, such as data entry, mailings and filing.

Precious Plastic Support

Contribute to our innovative Precious Plastic recycling program. Using specialized equipment, we are able to recycle plastics that cannot be easily recycled in Summit County. Volunteers support this program by helping at monthly collection events and by sorting collected plastics into the appropriate bins. Because of the equipment involved in this program, an orientation will be required before you can volunteer in this position.
