Community Art Projects
Artists-in-residence Cipriano Ortega and Kayla Powers will work with community members throughout the summer on an installations for BIFA. Ortega blends the visual, literary, and performing arts to explore and deconstruct the work around him. Powers creates ecologically focused textile art to explore the common threads of our shared humanity.

Quandary Antiques Cabin
Participants will use handmade, plant-based paints to fill in organic, nature-inspired shapes to contribute to a community art piece. Discover the process of extracting pigment from locally sourced plants and turning it into paint!
No experience necessary. All ages welcome!

Participants will work from poetry to create a visual art piece. We will explore blending words with color and visuals. Prompts will be provided or bring your own.

Visit Cipriano Ortega and Kayla Powers in their studios during Open Door hours and AirStage Après events to contribute to these community art projects. The art installations will be complete and unveiled during the AirStage Après on August 15.
