Breck Create, Town of Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne Arts and Culture are teaming up to bring you a county-wide July 4th float inspired by the Civic Season movement.
THE FLOAT CONCEPT:
The float will be made using primarily upcycled material. It will feature a milk jug igloo that will be lit up at night and pose as an excellent photo op. The concept will also feature wolves and trees, representing the species that was recently reintroduced to Colorado, bringing to light the effect on our ecosystem and landscape.
THE ARTIST:
The artist behind the float design and concept is Kia Neill, a multidisciplinary artist working with drawing, sculpture, photography, and installation inspired by her environment. Neill is native to Chicago, Illinois and was a visiting Artist-in-Residence with Breck Create before making the mountains her permanent home.
